RIMS Support
The HKU Research Information Management System (RIMS) is a web-based portal that facilitates the management of research outputs, research and conference grants, agreements, and awards/fellowships.
Citation Certification Reports
HKU Libraries offers citation certification reports to assist researchers in applying for grants, awards, fellowships, and job opportunities.
Research Impact
Research metrics are quantitative indicators or measures that provide some evidence of the impact of a research output, including academic impact, and impact beyond academia, such as economic, societal, and cultural impact.
Open Science
Open science is an umbrella term that involves various movements aiming to remove the barriers to sharing any output, resources, methods or tools at any stage of the research process. It includes open access to publications, open research data, open peer review, open educational resources, open monographs, citizen science, and more.
Transformative Agreements
When publishing in open access, an author is sometimes required to pay a fee, namely Article Processing Charge. The Libraries has entered into agreements with various publishers, enabling HKU authors to publish articles in open access in eligible journals with charges covered.
Open Access Publishing
Open access (OA) means making research publications freely available for the public to read and re-use. It is part of the larger open science movement. HKU, as a signatory to Berlin Declaration on Open Access, encourages and supports researchers to publish research articles in open access.

Customized library guides (abbr. libguides) with additional information on library resources related to a specific field for supporting the studies and teaching practices of HKU Faculties.

Textbook Adoption
The Academic and Professional Book Centre (A&P) provides textbook purchase service for HKU teachers and students. Teaching staff may fill in textbook adoption information on the application form required. Students can purchase textbooks via the platform once the book lists are available.
Suggest a Purchase
Eligible patrons can recommend books (print/electronic), audio-visual items, electronic databases, and journals (print/electronic) for acquisition. Enhance our collection by submitting your suggestions online to support academic and research needs.
