Eligible patrons can recommend books (print/electronic), audio-visual items, electronic databases, and journals (print/electronic) for acquisition. Enhance our collection by submitting your suggestions online to support academic and research needs.
Textbook Adoption
The Academic and Professional Book Centre (A&P) provides textbook purchase service for HKU teachers and students. Teaching staff may fill in textbook adoption information on the application form required. Students can purchase textbooks via the platform once the book lists are available.
Training Recording
Recording for general library training, seminars, and webinars on various topics.
Training, Workshops and Seminars
Library training and workshops are available to the HKU community. General sessions cover library resources, database navigation, literature searches, and citation management. Teaching staff can request customized training on information and digital literacy for their students. Guest speaker seminars will be held occasionally each academic year.
Transformative Agreements
When publishing in open access, an author is sometimes required to pay a fee, namely Article Processing Charge. The Libraries has entered into agreements with various publishers, enabling HKU authors to publish articles in open access in eligible journals with charges covered.

Comprehensive plagiarism detection service with AI writing detection capability. Faculty can request tutorials for account setup and feature implementation.
Turnitin Draft Coach
Microsoft Word Online plugin offering real-time similarity checks, citation validation, and grammar guidance for students and faculty.
Zotero
Zotero is a free, open-source citation management tool known for its user-friendly interface and seamless integration with web browsers. It allows users to easily collect, organize, and cite sources from the web. Zotero also offers collaborative features, making it a preferred choice for those working in team settings or across multiple devices.
