DataHub: The Guide
This is the guide for using DataHub, the HKU institutional data repository, including how to upload, share, and publish data on DataHub and the dataset submission guidelines for RPg students.
HKU Scholars Hub
Scholars Hub is an open-access institutional repository to collect, preserve, showcase, and disseminate the research outputs, awards, and other achievements of HKU researchers.
Open Access Publishing
Open access (OA) means making research publications freely available for the public to read and re-use. It is part of the larger open science movement. HKU, as a signatory to Berlin Declaration on Open Access, encourages and supports researchers to publish research articles in open access.
Open Science
Open science is an umbrella term that involves various movements aiming to remove the barriers to sharing any output, resources, methods or tools at any stage of the research process. It includes open access to publications, open research data, open peer review, open educational resources, open monographs, citizen science, and more.
Research Impact
Research metrics are quantitative indicators or measures that provide some evidence of the impact of a research output, including academic impact, and impact beyond academia, such as economic, societal, and cultural impact.

Researcher Connect
The Researcher Connect blog aims to provide HKU researchers with latest news and trends on scholarly communication, the process through which researchers disseminate findings within the academic community and with the public, for example publishing, research metrics, and research visibility.
Transformative Agreements
When publishing in open access, an author is sometimes required to pay a fee, namely Article Processing Charge. The Libraries has entered into agreements with various publishers, enabling HKU authors to publish articles in open access in eligible journals with charges covered.
